Building Software Releases update to eContrack

Upgrade Release (Oct 2006)

INTRODUCTION

Updates to eContrack are released quarterly. This enables us to be responsive to client needs and requests while providing a stable working environment.

As part of our normal development program, we have been working to improve our service to all our clients, making eContrack more user-friendly and more functional.

The developments being launched shortly are detailed in full below:

Graphing and reporting

Additional Style options

Changes have been made to Advanced Style settings

  • Users can now configure options for individual plots (Visibility, Colour and Width)
  • Users now have the option to create a stacked graph.

Answer Count

You can now select any field as your primary and secondary x axis when you have selected answer count as your y axis.

When you first select answer count as the y axis it will default the primary x axis to answer. You can then change this to anything you want.

Quartile Graphing

Changes have also been made to quartile graphing. When selecting quartile as the y-axis the secondary x-axis defaults to quartile.

Users can now change the secondary axis when creating a quartile graph.

Text Search

The text search now searches for words that contains the letters you have entered and no longer needs an exact match.

View other report settings

This allows the user to view the settings of report which they have not created. They should be able to edit the report and save it as a new report in the library. They are not allowed to overwrite the original.

Users are still limited to their own data even if they copy another persons report.

Check box Graphing

Users can now select high to low rankings for a checkbox graph

 Answer selection criteria

When a user selects two answers from one measure will now graph when only one answer has been scored rather than needing both answers to have been scored.

Score Range

When a user selects two ranges from one measure will now graph if only one range has been scored rather than requiring both ranges to have been scored.

Displaying selected measures and sections

The selected measure and section lists previously only displayed the name of the measure or section. It now includes the template name as well.

Measure curve analysis – enhancements

The measure Curve Analysis Report will plot the 75% performance quartile on the graph.

Used can now add a Chart Title and modify the formatting of the chart using ChartFX

ReportingName & ReportingGroup

Two additional fields have been added to a measure to improve reporting.

Reporting Name – Allows a graphing title to be set for a measure this allows a reporting name to be used on a graph which is different to the Measure name, which may be too long for graphing

Reporting Group – Allows measures from different templates to be given an overall Reporting section without affecting the section/measure names on individual templates. This enables high level reporting to be easily created.

These need to have been configured in the Template definition wizard

Step by Step scoring Wizard

When using the Step by Step Scoring Wizard, the user can now opt to skip all unscored measures that the user can see. This option appears on the summary screen, at the end of the scoring wizard.

If the user presses the Close button in the lower bottom bar, a message box will appear asking if the user wants to set the measures to skipped.

Activity

Activity notification email to include Against info

When a user has their preferences set to notify them of any activities that are created for them in a database, the email now includes details of all the information about the activity.

Template Definition Wizard

Formula Variables

The format of this page has been changed. Selecting Add calls up a pop up screen similar to screen used for defining the answers in Radio Buttons, check boxes etc

Setting Best & Worst ranges

Previously the Template Definition wizard previously generated the best and worst scores for Radio button and scored Answers. The user could override these values. When the measure is edited it was reset to the default value

The Template Definition wizard now only generates the best and worst if no best and worst have been set and does not reset when the measure is edited.

 ReportingName & ReportingGroup

Two additional fields have been added to a measure to improve reporting.

Reporting Name – Allows a graphing title to be set for a measure this reduces the problems caused when graphing by long measure names.

Reporting Group – Allows measures from different templates to be given an overall Reporting section without affecting the section/measure names on individual templates. This enables high level reporting to be easily created from multiple templates

Bug Fixes

Selecting Return in a Graph Title Text Box causes Flash to stall

Putting a Return in the Graph Title stops the Flash movie running eventually giving the Slow Running Script message and crashing the Data Analysis Wizard.

This has been fixed

Traffic Light Analysis and League Table reports Reports

When generating a Traffic Light Analysis, selecting Template Analysis or Measure Analysis or Comment Analysis, then any criteria, an error appears displaying an "action cancelled" page and also a browser note to advise the "IE cannot download template.asp from www.econtrackdev.co.uk. The file could not be written to the cache".

When generating a League Table report the same applies.

This has been fixed.

Template access rights

Sometimes when creating / editing a measure the Access rights are set to "Private to Alliance" with the Alliance text box empty.

This has been fixed.

Summary details

When editing a measure the summary details were not being displayed at the top of the wizard.

This has been fixed
