What has changed in the Data Analysis Wizard?

Improved Library Layout

The home page has now been improved to make the most of the size increase. Report groups… now called folders are displayed as a list on the left hand side. Report names and descriptions now have room to be displayed in full.

Analysing Non-Performance Data

The graphing wizard now copes with analysing non-performance data. You can produce graphs, cross tabs and datasheets of this data.

Selection Criteria

Due to the increase in available fields the selection criteria page has been redesigned.

Selected and prompt criteria are display as a list. This makes it a lot clearer as to what  settings have been chosen. Prompt items are displayed green.

The user now chooses a field to set criteria for from the combo boxes, this triggers a window to open where they can enter the criteria or set it to prompt.

Datasheet Integration

The datasheet wizard has now been integrated with the data analysis wizard.

This allows for the selection criteria and the field layouts to be saved in the library.

X and Y Axis Merged

The X and Y Axis settings have been moved onto one page.

Count Graphs

With the introduction of non performance graphing you now have the option of counting records.

X,Y Graphs

You can now create X,Y graphs by choosing a numeric value for your X Axis and choosing ‘Scatter or XY’ as your graph style. This also works with dates if you choose a date field as the X Axis.

Academic YTD Graphing

You can now create a graph displaying data for Academic Year to Date.

Report Ownership

You can now set who a report belongs to when you create it. This is useful if you are setting up a report for other users within the system.

Exporting Data

The data analysis wizard has been updated so you can now export the data straight to CSV. Previously users had to produce the report then choose export from the subsequent page.

To take full advantage of the new features in the analysis wizard and enhance your graphing capability and report production, we recommend you consider a bespoke Graphing and & Reporting Workshop.

This is based on your existing database configuration and data, making the session specific to your requirements.
